Life in Discovery at The Chicago Medical School
The Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science seeks applicants of the highest caliber who share the vision of the University and are dedicated to a Life in Discovery. A student's potential for the study and practice of medicine will be evaluated on the basis of academic achievement, MCAT results, appraisals by a preprofessional advisory committee or individual instructors, and a personal interview, if requested by the Student Admissions Committee. Students are selected on the basis of various criteria, including scholarship, character, motivation, and educational background. The administration, faculty and the members of the Chicago Medical School Student Admissions Committee are committed to excellence and diversity in its student body. In seeking to achieve diversity, the admissions committee is instructed to consider a wide range of factors in evaluating applicants for admission, including, but not limited to, the following: demonstrated intellectual capacity, academic achievement, employment history, life experiences (including those related to ethnicity and national origin), motivation, character, personality, commitment to public service, the extent to which the applicant has overcome educational and/or economic obstacles, and other indicators that the applicant can succeed in their medical studies and make a significant contribution to providing improved medical care to the local community and general public. Applicants to the Chicago Medical School are required to have completed 90 hours of undergraduate level education at an accredited institution. Listed below are those science courses required for admission to the school. However, applicants are urged to seek a broad based education that includes the humanities and social sciences.
