The following items are required for completion of the application. A. Three Letters of Recommendation - Three letters must be submitted in support of an application. These letters must be written by professionals who are qualified to comment on your potential for graduate study and research. Recommenders must use appropriate letterhead stationary and letterhead envelope. If you choose, you may provide your recommenders with a copy of our standard recommendation form. Please be sure to print your name on the form and sign the waiver of access at the top. Recommendations should be sent to “IGPBS Admissions”. All recommendation envelopes must be received with the seals unbroken and the recommender’s signature intact across the envelope flap. B. Transcripts - You must submit an official transcript from each college or university attended. Have the school send the official transcript in their letterhead envelope directed to “IGPBS Admissions”. All transcript envelopes must be received with the seals unbroken and the registrar’s seal intact across the envelope flap. . The University reserves the right to initiate an international transcript evaluation by an approved US evaluation agency such as World Education Services www.wes.org. By submitting this application for admission, an individual grants permission to the University to do so. C. Graduate Record Examination – All applicants, including foreign medical graduates, are required to supply official GRE scores. Verbal, quantitative and analytical portions of the GRE are essential; advanced test scores in the appropriate academic field are recommended. All test scores must be from examinations taken within the past five (5) years. Scores must be sent directly from the Educational Testing Service (www.ets.org). Use Institution Code 1117 and a department code indicating your preferred area of research. International Applicants - If you are an international applicant who is from a country where English is not the primary language and have not attended a university or college in the US, full-time, for at least two consecutive years, it is your responsibility to provide an official report of TOEFL scores. This test must have been taken within the last two years, and the scores must be sent directly from Educational Testing Services (www.ets.org). Please use Institution code 1117 and Department code 30 for "Other Biological Sciences" when requesting scores. A statement of Financial Support for international students is also required after acceptance and prior to the issue of a visa. This form is will be required at that time.
