University Ambassador Program

WHAT IS THE UNIVERSITY AMBASSADOR PROGRAM?

The University Ambassador Program at Rosalind Franklin University is a volunteer group of outstanding student leaders which provide outreach to prospective students and guests at the University, as well as attend special events on behalf of the University. Each year, University Ambassadors participate in a variety of recruitment activities both on and off campus. University Ambassadors are also asked to assist at formal University events where student representation is needed. Examples of events University Ambassadors may be asked to participate in are listed below:

• Campus Tours
• Open House Activities
• Commencement
• Community Events
• Hosting Special University Guests

The University Ambassador position is one that is held with high honor at the University and is coordinated through the Division of Student Affairs. Those chosen for the program will be given the opportunity to develop their leadership and communication skills that will be imperative in their future careers.

BENEFITS OF THE UNIVERSITY AMBASSADOR POSITION?
There are many benefits to being a University Ambassador:

LEARN NEW SKILLS:
Ambassadors develop proper public speaking skills when speaking with prospective students and to large groups. Ambassadors also have the opportunity to learn organizational and interpersonal skills by planning and participating in recruitment events.

EARN A LEADERSHIP CERTIFICATE:
University Ambassadors will receive a leadership certificate from Rosalind Franklin University for their service, dedication, and leadership at the University.

MEET NEW PEOPLE:
The University Ambassador Program is a great way to meet new people and get involved in campus life. The program allows students to network inter-professionally and will help to build skills they will need to succeed in the workplace.

RFUMS APPAREL:
University Ambassadors will receive RFUMS apparel to wear when at volunteer activities.

TIME COMMITMENT
University Ambassadors are expected to attend meetings occurring every other month and an initial training session, as well as to participate in campus events. Each University Ambassador will volunteer for commencement each academic year as well as:

• 10 hours of Campus Tours
• 2 special events
Total time commitment for University Ambassadors will be less than 25 hours per academic year.

HOW TO BECOME A UNIVERISTY AMBASSADOR
The University Ambassador Program is now accepting applications. Students from all areas of the University are encouraged to apply. University Ambassadors are needed from all four schools within the Rosalind Franklin University community. Once chosen to be a University Ambassador, training will be provided to help orient students to the position.
