What is an entrance interview? The purpose of the entrance interview is to help students make informed decisions about financing their education. The entrance interview is a federal requirement and all financial aid recipients must participate in an entrance interview before receiving financial aid funds. The purpose of the entrance interview is to ensure borrowers understand the terms of the loans and their rights and responsibilities as a student loan borrower prior to receiving. How can I fulfill my entrance interview requirements? Most entrance interviews take place during orientation. If you miss your entrance interview, you must contact the Financial Aid Office immediately. I requested funds for living expenses, when will that money be available to me? You must complete your entrance interview prior to receiving your living expense funds. Once your entrance interview is fulfilled, the earliest your funds will be available to you is the student payment date. The first student payment date is typically during the first week of class. I don’t want a portion of my loans, how do I cancel them? Complete the Financial Aid Refund/Cancellation Request. Request forms are available in the “Forms” section of the Financial Aid Office website. Could I make an appointment to talk to a Financial Aid Counselor? Yes, definitely! In addition to the mandatory entrance interview, we strongly encourage all new students to make an appointment with our office to review any questions they may have. Call our office at 847-578-3217 to make an appointment.
