A presentation was held on September 26, 2006, during which Dr. K. Michael Welch, University President and CEO, and Dr. Timothy Hansen, Vice President for Academic Affairs, spoke to the University about the importance of the upcoming HLC accreditation visit and its impact on the future of the University. Among the areas discussed were

• why accreditation matters;
• the University’s accreditation history;
• the Higher Learning Commission’s accreditation standards;
• and the accreditation process timeline

The results of the *Naming Contest were revealed at the end of the presentation. The themed character will serve at the brand identification for the self-study process and allow for consistency with our accreditation initiatives.
