Faculty Open House / Needs Assessment Results - October 2005

Faculty development is critical for members of the academic community in the University. Major areas of focus are career advising and educational change. The goals of the Office are:

  • Improve faculty morale
  • Improve faculty advancement and retention
  • Improve consistency of faculty assessment
  • Improve use of dynamic educational techniques
  • Establish mentoring programs across departments and schools of the University
  • Increase extramural funding status

To that end and with the assistance and feedback of the academy, the Office has initiated a series of workshops and presentations from external and internal experts to extend the faculty's awareness and knowledge of various approaches to enhance their careers, performance, and satisfaction.
