The university's preferred computer equipment and software vendor is Tech Depot. Our current standards include a selection of desktop and laptop computers from HP/Compaq. You can find our recommended models on the Tech Depot home page.
Q: Where to begin? A: Your intended purchase can be entered directly into Datatel Colleague as a requisition for purchase. The requisition will automatically be routed for review and approved by IT Department staff, so there is no need for additional paperwork. Note: effective 4/1/2008 - the Pre-Purchasing Equipment Review Form is no longer required.
For those of you who have university issued purchasing credit cards (PCards), these may not be used to purchase computer-related goods or services – purchase orders are required. Reimbursement requests for purchases made with personal funds will not be approved – again, purchase orders are required.
Non-equipment technology purchases (software or services) should also be coordinated with the Information Technology Department directly before the purchase is made.
