Bret Moberg joined the University in November 2003 as its first University-wide compliance officer after his completion of 20 years of service in the United States Navy.  He began his military career in naval aviation, earned the designations of his warfare specialty and that of mission commander, and subsequently was selected into the Navy's Law Education Program.  Upon earning his Juris Doctor from Baylor University in 1991, Mr. Moberg practiced as an attorney in the Navy's Judge Advocate General's Corps, concentrating in criminal litigation, employment law, and federal administrative law.  In 2000, he earned his Master of Laws in Health Law from DePaul University and was assigned to a naval hospital as its in-house counsel, adding health law to his many areas of practice during his active duty naval career.

At the University, Mr. Moberg created and currently administers the University's compliance program, provides legal advice and counsel to the University in the fields of corporate compliance and health law, and teaches on topics relating to bioethics and health law in several courses offered at the University. 

Mr. Moberg is licensed to practice as an attorney and counselor at law in Illinois.
