Research Opportunities
The Anxiety and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders Treatment and Research Program provides a broad range of diagnostic and treatment services for anxiety related problems including panic attacks, obsessive-compulsive disorder, various phobias, including social phobia, and more generalized problems involving excessive anxiety and worry. The treatment procedures with the most extensive empirical support are used in the cognitive-behavioral intervention programs provided at the clinic. The clinic treatment program emphasizes the acquisition of adaptive life skills. Clients are helped in systematically approaching fears and concerns in a supportive environment.
The program is directed by John E. Calamari, Ph.D., a licensed clinical psychologist with extensive experience treating anxiety disorders and training other professionals in the treatment of these disorders. The clinic's therapists have all received specialized training in the treatment of anxiety disorders and work under Dr. Calamari's supervision.
