For students rotating at Hines Veterans Affairs Medical Center:

• All students are REQUIRED to register with both , Hines VA and North Chicago VA, before the start of the designated rotation. 
• Students must complete and submit the forms listed in D2L's course MNEU700 (Content: Orientation: Affiliate Hospitals: Student Information) at least 2 weeks in advance of your rotation start date.

DAY 1: ORIENTATION: Time: 8:30 a.m., Address: Chicago Medical School, 3333 Green Bay Road, North Chicago, IL 60064. Room number: HSB 2.704.

DAY 2: REPORT TO ASSIGNED SITE: Time: 8:00 a.m., Address: Hines VAMC, Building 1, Room F-201, Hines, IL, Report to Neurology Department and see Carol Kala.

TEAMS: Students from CMS and Loyola Medical School are assigned to an Inpatient Service and to an Outpatient Clinic.

CALL: There is no overnight call.

STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES: Students are responsible for the initial H&P, progress notes and updates on assigned inpatients (1-2 patients/week, 1-3 patient load at any one time). Students also attend one ½ day Outpatient Neurology Clinic with the assigned attending.

STUDENT SCHEDULE: Daily work hours, weekends, and holidays are confirmed on site. Students are expected to attend: Morning Report, combined Neurology/Neurosurgery Conference, Sleep Rounds, Neurology Grand Rounds, Visiting Professor Rounds, Brain Cutting, Small Group Discussions and daily Teaching Rounds.
