For students rotating at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital:

All students are REQUIRED to register with Lutheran General before the start of the designated rotation.

Students must complete and submit the forms listed on D2L course MNEU700 (Content:  Orientation: Affiliate Hospitals: Student Information) at least 4 weeks in advance of your rotation start date.

DAY 1:  ORIENTATION: Time : 8:30 a.m. Address: Chicago Medical School, 3333 Green Bay Road, North Chicago, IL 60064. Room number HSB: 2.704

DAY 2:  Report to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital Time:  8:00 am  Address:  1775 Dempster, 6-South, Park Ridge, IL   60068 Report to Mrs. Woodrich (Ed. Coord, IM: 847-723-6464)

TEAMS:  Students from CMS are assigned to Dr. Mikesell (for Inpatient work and outpatient clinic).  A resident might also be assigned to the Team.

CALL:  There is no overnight call. There might be a call during your rotation (Dr. Mikesell has call every 4 weekends).

STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES:  Students are responsible for the initial H&P, progress notes and updates on assigned inpatients. Students also attend Outpatient Neurology Clinic with Dr. Mikesell. Students are expected to bring their lab coat and instruments to the hospital and clinic.

STUDENT SCHEDULE:  Daily work hours mostly 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. There is no weekend work. Holiday work schedule is confirmed on site.
