Funding for National Training Programs

The Office for Student Affairs and the Office for Medical Curriculum have limited funds available to support student participation in national training programs. These include programs such as those offered though AMSA, AMA, SNMA, and other national organizations supporting medical students and medical education. Students who wish to be considered for funding through this source must:

  1. Submit a written description of the program at least six weeks in advance to the Office for Student Affairs.  This should include:
    1. the description of the specific student project being proposed and include the short- and long-term impact/influence on the CMS curriculum and other students.
    2. a letter of support from the faculty sponsor of the project (if applicable).
    3. A budget including travel and registration costs (if applicable). This should include a statement/explanation of how additional and alternative funding is being pursued.
  2. Funding can only be offered for students ACCEPTED to the relevant program. Proof of acceptance will be required before funding can be assured.
  3. Because funds are severely limited, students should expect that only a small portion of any cost incurred can be covered through this mechanism and must actively seek other funding sources.
