Molecular biology on the Web

In this week's session, we will look at a variety of molecular biology materials which are available.

Some other useful sites:

  • The Restriction Enzyme Database (REBASE) is maintained by Nobel laureate Rich Roberts at New England Biolabs. This site has links to other useful sites such as NEBcutter and WebCutter, which will let you input a gene sequence, then find restriction sites for you.
  • The Staden Package, which is free to academics, has numerous utilities for those who are sequencing nucleotides.

There are lots of programs available which are useful for molecular biologists. For this session, you are encouraged to explore some of the locations listed above and see what programs may be of use to you.
