Figen Seiler, M.S. (Cell Biology, University of Illinois, 1983) has over 20 years experience in the Electron Microscopy Sciences in Pharmaceutical Industry and in Academic research.

Skills & Instrumentation: Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) , Scanning Electron Microscopy( SEM), Light Microscopy (LM), Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM),  Laser Capture Microscopy (LCM), also familiarity with Fluorescence and Confocal Microscopies, and supportive ancillary equipment for EM.

  • EM Sample Preparation and Ultrastructural Interpretation of many types of Biological specimens.
  • Ultramicrotomy expertise for TEM, and LM [(e.g. Cryo (hydrated), GMA resin (dehydrated) applications].
  • Darkroom Photography & Photoshop Methods
  • Image Acquisition / Analysis (Film and Digital) at EM & LM levels
  • Specialized technical skills: include Immunogold labeling and Autoradiography methods (LM & EM).
  • Familiarity with Good Laboratory/Manufacturing Practices: GLP & GMP.
  • Memberships in MSA, and M3S Societies
