RNA Quantification Support Laboratory

An Opticon 2 System from MJ Research is available for real time PCR assays.  Use of real time PCR assays allows for quantitative analysis of expression from genes of interest in small tissue samples.  Possible applications of the technique include identification of polymorphisms and quantification of splice variants.  The Opticon 2 System is compatible with several popular fluorescent dyes including SYBR Green I, molecular beacons and TaqMan probes.  The core facility may be used on a cost-per-test basis.  All supplies and samples required for experiments must be provided by the researchers.
