Shipping Instructions for Non-Hazardous Shipments

Checklist for All Dry Ice Shipments

  1. Complete the RFUMS Request for Shipment form.
  2. If the shipment is a return to vendor for credit/replacement, a return authorization number must be obtained from the vendor and be available and noted both on the request for shipment form, and clearly written on the package.
  3. Although our Shipping and Receiving Department carries most Federal Express and USPS boxes, we do not carry, nor do we have in inventory an assortment of packaging and boxes. However, all Shipping staff can assist you and or your department with researching and locating the proper packing and packaging (boxes) needed for your shipping request to be successful. Shipping and Receiving staff can also assist with the purchase of packing materials and packaging by researching the proper packaging and package (box). We will be happy to contact our vendors for part numbers, availability, and pricing.
  4. Shipping costs - A department, receiver, or third party account number is required to facilitate your request unless the vendor has provided you with pre-paid shipping labels, or a call tag has been issued.
  5. Ensure that you give a contact name, company name, street address, route number, department, and contact phone number. The more information the better.
  6. Please plan ahead and plan accordingly.
If your shipment is too large for you to drop off at Receiving, please call ext. 8803 or 8666 to request a department pickup for shipping. We will be happy to assist you.

Once again - plan ahead and plan accordingly. Shipping and Receiving can assist you with acquiring the proper packaging, package (box) and assist with researching and locating the most cost effective resource for your shipment to be successful. With enough advance notice we can also look for recycled packing and packaging (boxes) to save you and your department cost for your shipment.
