Water Efficiency

Options for conserving water include looking at plumbing fixtures and overall water usage, measuring how much water is actually used and measuring the effects of implementing water saving technologies. Large quantities of water are used for landscaping and there are many options to reduce its overall use through reuse and recycling. Many buildings use air conditioning systems that depend on millions of gallons of water for operation and there are ways to minimize this usage as well.

Membership:

Rachel Harrington
Tom Wilson

Objectives:

Reduce fixture potable water usage through automatic water control systems. Install, where possible, water conserving plumbing fixtures.

Limit or eliminate the use of potable water for landscape irrigation.

Utilize new water cooling technology to reduce water usage in facilities cooling towers.
