Tree Planting
On Earth Day, April 22, 2009, an Autumn Blaze Maple was planted in the lawn east of the Health Sciences Building as a collaborative effort by the Sustainability Committee and Balanced Environments, our landscape contractor. Balanced Environments also provided handouts containing landscaping tips as well as vegetable and flower seed packets for participants to take home.
Take the Pledge!
On Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009 there were tables set up in the Market Place and Student Union Cafe where Faculty, Staff and Students filled out a pledge card and receive a green ribbon showing their support. The pledge card allowed them to write down what they will be doing on Earth Day 2009 to reduce your carbon footprint. That information was collected and shared with the University community. Your suggestions can help others reduce their carbon footprints. Pledges can also be taken online by clicking HERE.
