Academics

For the MS in Clinical Nutrition and MS in Nutrition Education programs:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, dietetics, or a related health or science field from an accredited institution of higher education prior to matriculation into the program.
  • A minimum overall GPA of 2.75 in the last two years of undergraduate study is required.

For the MS in Prevention, Health Promotion and Wellness program:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university prior to matriculation into the program.
  • A minimum overall GPA of 2.75 in the last two years of undergraduate study is required.    

Experience

  • Work experience in nutrition, dietetics, or a related health or science field is highly recommended.
  • Admission to the Clinical Nutrition degree program track is only open to candidates with clinical experience.
  • Candidates with a degree in the sciences, but without a degree in nutrition, must have a record of coursework in basic human nutrition, nutrition through the lifecycle, and clinical nutrition so that they have the necessary background knowledge for participation in the Nutrition Education degree program track. 

Letters of Recommendation

  • Two letters of recommendation from former professors, or employers, familiar with the applicant's professional or educational capabilities.

Transcripts

  • Official transcripts submitted from each college, university, and community college previously attended

Computer Competency

  • Proficiency in basic computer skills.
