The mission of Academic Affairs is to provide the processes and support systems at the University level that will enhance and facilitate student learning and development and allow students to succeed in a collegial and dynamic academic environment. Embracing the RFUMS Model of Education, which places students in the center of the educational process, the Division of Academic Affairs strives to create a cohesive environment that supports student learning from the admissions process to graduation and beyond.
In concert with the central tenets of the RFUMS Model of Education, Academic Affairs encourages interprofessional collaboration using academic and professional literature to support best practices for student success. Our work is accomplished in an environment of assessment and continuous quality improvement to ensure that students are learning and developing optimally.
Academic Affairs encompasses the Interprofessional Institute; the Department of Online Learning and Distance Education; the Department of Healthcare Simulation
which includes the Education and Evaluation Center and the Simulation Lab; the Interprofessional Curriculum Committee; and the University Assessment Committee.
