Requirements for Health Administration Certificate Completion

  • Successful completion of four courses (12 - 15 QH)
  • Cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (B) or better
  • Successful completion of all certificate requirements within 2 years from the date of enrollment

The Health Administration program offers four certificates.

The Certificate in Health Administration is geared toward those seeking to advance their knowledge of health administration on select topics that meet their professional career goals.

 

Students enrolled in the Certificate in Health Administration will develop a four-course individualized plan of study in conjunction with the program advisor.

 

The Certificate in Health Administration  - Public Health Emphasis is a defined series of four courses designed to advance the student's knowledge in health administration with an emphasis in public health.

 

Students enrolled in the Public Health Emphasis Certificate will complete:

  • HHCM 509 Statistics for Health Administrators (3 QH)
  • HHCM 522 Healthcare Policy and Delivery Systems (4 QH)
  • HHCM 530 Introduction to Public Health (4 QH)
  • HHCM 630 Public Health Epidemiology (4 QH)

The Certificate in Health Administration - Risk Management and Health Insurance Emphasis is a defined series of four courses designed to advance the student's knowledge and skills in health administration with an emphasis in risk management and health insurance.

 

Students enrolled in the Risk Management and Health Insurance Emphasis Certificate will complete:

  • HHCM 507 Healthcare Informatics (3 QH)
  • HHCM 516 Risk and Quality Management in Healthcare (3 QH)
  • HHCM 518 Insurance Dimensions (3 QH)
  • HHCM 551 Accounting and Financial Management in Healthcare (4 QH)

The Certificate in Health Administration - Diversity, Health Literacy and Global Health Emphasis is a defined series of four courses designed to advance the student's knowledge and skills in health administration with an emphasis in diversity, health literacy, and globe health.

 

Students enrolled in the Diversity, Health Literacy and Global Health Emphasis Certificate will complete:

  • HHCM 507 Healthcare Informatics (3 QH)
  • HHCM 510 Global Health (3 QH)
  • HHCM 520 Cultural Diversity and and the Management of Healthcare Services (3 QH)
  • HNUT 504 Information and Health Literacy (3 QH)
