This morning, I met with one of my advisors for two hours; we discussed some of the LCME issues and did a quick re-cap of our strategy for addressing some of the standards. Reflection is an important part of being a great physician, and it's also an important part of being a good leader. Every now and then, one should step back, evaluate the whole picture, and make sure the organization is moving in the direction you want it to go.
I want to say, “Thank you!” to everyone who stepped it up and went the 110% on behalf of CMS this past week. I wish I could thank you all individually, but this post will have to suffice. Without your individual efforts, we wouldn't have had as productive of a week as we did.
This coming week is important. We have the curriculum retreat Monday and the LCME secretariat visit on Tuesday. I've asked the dean leads to turn in a rough draft of the non-compliant standards by Wednesday, even though we are far from working through all the issues. I'm looking forward to a good week!
