My Dean’s Cabinet met this morning to discuss our progress on LCME issues. As you can see by the updated site, we are now over 70% of the way to having all the necessary documentation for the December 15th submission. One of the things they did this morning was have a discussion facilitated by Pat Marshall, one of the outside consultants who has been helping us. The discussion centered around developing a “communication plan” to disseminate the information about all the changes that have been made to the medical school in these past few months as we have addressed not only issues directly related to LCME, but also other solutions that we have enacted during the process. We made some good head way today, but the discussion will need to be ongoing. We need to make sure that all the stakeholders are informed as important changes to the school take place. We want to make sure everyone knows the work we are doing to move things forward.
With Thanksgiving right around the corner, I can’t help but reflect on how thankful I am for all the help that has been offered me and CMS during this time of need. People seem to be heeding the message about taking personal responsibility, being accountable and dependable.
We should always make it a priority to take care of our personal health and our family. When it comes to RFUMS, it is nice to know that this community is a family…and is always willing to take care of each other. I hope everyone enjoys the holiday. My team has been working hard and they are looking forward to the time off to spend with family and friends. Rest assured, after the day, we all will be ready to do what it takes in the next 18 days to be as successful as possible in delivering on our promise to not only meet the LCME expectations, but exceed them. Happy Thanksgiving.
