As noted above, our LCME site visit is scheduled for January 25-28, 2015. Our status report will be expected in mid-December. We are currently waiting to hear from the LCME on the exact date the report will be due as well as the composition of the accreditation team that will conduct the visit.
The CMS team continues to successfully progress through the standards. We have had two curriculum retreats since my last blog which included participation of the Curriculum Committee, students, site directors/coordinators, clinical directors/coordinators, and CMS leadership. In addition, there have been two curriculum sessions of the Dean's Council and members of the Curriculum Committee to develop the framework for a new curriculum model. On July 25, 2014three curriculum consultants have been invited to spend the day with us to assist with curriculum development. We are planning to institute the new curriculum in July 2016.
The IS-16 Diversity Team, along with Strategic Enrollment Management and theAdmissions Committee, has done an excellent job diversifying the incoming class of 2018.
Dr. Stuart Goldman has done brilliantly in acquiring new clinical sites as well as new faculty. He, along with Dr. Nutan Vaidya and Jim Zimmerman, are in the process of developing an onboarding process for all new faculty.
You will continue to see our status bars move toward completion in the weeks ahead. If you have any suggestions or questions please contact my office and we will respond or put you in touch with the appropriate lead. I thank you for your continued support of CMS.
