The mission of the Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences program is to prepare students to continue their graduate education in a variety of healthcare professions including allopathic and podiatric medicine, dentistry, healthcare administration & management, and physician assistant studies, by providing a rigorous background in the biomedical sciences. The program also provides an opportunity for students to earn a certificate in one of the following concentrations: health administration, health professions education, nutrition, and women’s health.
This challenging one-year course of study includes a number of graduate-level courses in the basic medical sciences and the choice of educational concentrations in a variety of healthcare fields. Students in this unique program take classes with students in other degree programs, including various graduate programs, allopathic and podiatric medicine, nutrition, physical therapy, and physician assistant studies.
Another benefit of the BMS curriculum is that, upon completion of the program, students will have earned a certificate in one of the following educational concentrations:
- Health Administration - Leadership Emphasis
- Health Administration - Business Emphasis
- Health Administration - Public Health Emphasis
- Health Professions Education
- Women’s Health
After earning a certificate, students may choose to apply to the Master’s Degree Programs in Health Administration, Health Professions Education, and Nutrition.
