Faculty Positions

Assistant Professor Position in Clinical Psychology. The Department of Psychology at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science is seeking to fill a full-time 12-month tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level beginning in Fall 2012. We are particularly interested in applicants with research programs in clinical neuropsychology, health psychology, or psychopathology. Specific areas of research interest within these broad domains are open; however, candidates with research programs relevant to two or more of these broad domains are strongly preferred, as such programs could complement research and training in existing specialty tracks within the Department. In addition, applicants with a history of extramural funding or the potential to secure such funding are strongly preferred. By the time of their appointment, candidates must have earned a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from an APA-accredited program, completed an APA-approved clinical internship, and be license-eligible in Illinois. Faculty responsibilities will include supervising graduate students' research, teaching courses in the Master's and doctoral programs, and developing an active research program.

The Department has an APA accredited PhD program in clinical psychology with specialty tracks in Health Psychology, Neuropsychology, and Psychopathology, as well as a Masters of Science program in Clinical Counseling. The Department is comprised of nine tenure track faculty in addition to a sizable adjunct faculty. The program is strongly committed to the Boulder Model and students are actively involved in research throughout their training.

There are a number of unique strengths associated with our program that encourage and facilitate development of successful research programs. As a graduate school only, all didactic teaching is limited to graduate students. Second, the teaching loads permit ample time for research and tutorial training of graduate students. Third, the Department of Psychology, like other doctoral programs in the University, is a free standing unit within the College of Health Professions. All of the University programs are devoted to training in health-related areas, offering ample opportunities for intrainstitutional collaboration.

Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science is located 35 miles north of Chicago and 50 miles south of Milwaukee. As such, the Department benefits from active collaborations with local hospitals, as well as academic institutions in both cities. The campus is shared with the North Chicago VA Medical Center and the Great Lakes Naval Training Center, both of which provide the Department with potential research and clinical training resources.

The Department is committed to having a diverse faculty. Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science is an equal opportunity employer. Women and minority candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. Applications should be received by October 31, 2011 to ensure full consideration. Applicants should send a cover letter, statement of research and teaching interests, curriculum vitae, 3 letters of reference, and representative publications to the Clinical Psychology Search Committee, Attention: Rachel Neff Greenley, Ph.D., Department of Psychology, Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, 3333 Green Bay Road, North Chicago, IL 60064, Phone:  847-578-8751, email:  rachel.greenley@rosalindfranklin.edu.
