1970s
Muriel Hawkins, BS ’75, was recognized by the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and the UW Oshkosh Foundation as she concludes her tenure as assistant vice chancellor for academic support and diversity (CASD). Throughout her professional career, Hawkins has been a liaison between the University and community. She has written and been awarded grants, which provided educational opportunities for students of all backgrounds and interests. A scholarship was established in honor of Hawkins’ service and dedication to fund CASD students wishing to study abroad.
1990s
Per the Asbury Park Press, Rebecca Cipirano, MD ’94/MS ’94 opened A Better You Weight Loss Centers LLC in Colts Neck, New Jersey. Patients are given specially designed programs that include exercise and FDA-approved weight-loss medications.
Certified physician assistant Jeff Leon, PA ’95, was honored be Memorial Hospital in Carthage, Illinois during National Physicians Assistants Week in October. Leon serves patients at the Bowen Family Practice in Bowen and in the Emergency Room at Memorial Hospital in Carthage.
The News Sun featured the educational and professional career path of Sherri Golebiowski, PT ’99, the PT Clinical Director of Little Heroes, LLC, a pediatric physical therapy services provider in Grayslake, Illinois.
Pathologists’ Assistant program, Jennifer Lapchak, PA ’01/MS ’03 (ASCP), has had a recent publication: “Specimen Discrepancies in a Clinical Setting”, Lab Medicine, July 2008 Volume 39 Number 7.
Tatiana Anthony, PA ’08 has joined the staff at Toledo Hospital in Toledo, Ohio as a general surgery physician assistant.
