The Office of Student Life, within Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, encourages each student to be actively involved in the campus community. The lessons learned by living and working together in an interprofessional environment will not only make you a better person, but will help to make you a better healthcare professional.
Each year, there are a variety of large events that occur in which students can be involved. Examples of these programs include Dance for Diabetes, which helps to raise funds for the American Diabetes Association, Miles 4 Smiles, a 5K walk/ 10K run to benefit Lambs Farm, a spring Talent Show, and a Breast Cancer walk and fundraiser.
We encourage participation in student activities as an excellent way to experience personal growth, meet new friends, share common interests with other students, faculty and staff, as well as have some fun outside the classroom. The Office of Student Life assists Registered Student Organizations in creating and implementing quality programs and activities that will enhance their leadership and organizational skills as well as help the organizations fulfill their goals. Through our programs and services, we are committed to assisting students in becoming a force for positive change in the community and greater society.
Student Council
Student Council serves as the governing body representing all students on the RFUMS campus. Student Council exists to advocate for the needs of students, promote unity between the five colleges of RFUMS, and serve as a means to organize and run student events.
Each year, an Executive Student Council is elected to govern Studen Council, consisting of a president, vice president, parliamentarian, secretary, treasurer, and technology officer. For more information, visit the Student Council Website.
Student Organizations
There are over 80 registered Student Organizations at RFUMS currently which are governed by Student Council and supported through the Office of Student Life. Student Organizations exist to connect students professionally, socially, and academically on campus. Students are also welcome to charter new student organizations to meet new interests within the student body. Many of our student organizations also have close connections with academic departments and specialties to help students network and learn within their field of study. For a complete listing of all registered Student Organizations, visit the Office of Student Life Website .
