Prospective Residents

Please note: During the academic year, we accept applications on a rolling basis. If you're interested in on campus housing, please contact our office for availability. We may have a spot waiting just for you!

 

Application & Contracting Process

The application for Student Housing is not binding, but places the student’s name on the list that requests that Student Housing considers the student for on campus living.  Please note the following:

  • Applicants must be admitted to RFUMS to accept Student Housing Contracts.
  • All students seeking housing-new and returning-must apply.
  • After the lottery, applications are accepted on a rolling basis and students will be placed on the waiting list.

Contracts
Student Housing Contracts are a binding agreement between the student and the University.

 Each student must apply for one of the contract periods listed below

Contract Period I: May 1, 2012-April 30, 2013
Contract Period III: August 1, 2012– May 31, 2013

 
Apartment Types:

Students can apply for one of several apartment types:

  • One Bedroom-Single Student: One student requesting a private, one bedroom apartment
     
  • Two Bedroom-Single Student:  A Two student, shared apartment. Each student has their own bedroom & bathroom. One student requesting to share an apartment with a specified roommate or to be assigned a roommate by Student Housing. If requesting a particular roommate, both students must request each other on the Student Housing application. Student Housing doesn't guarantee that preferences will be honored, but will try to accommodate when possible.
     
  • One Bedroom-Family: One student requesting to share a one bedroom apartment with another family member (total occupancy of two people)
     
  • Two Bedroom-Family: One student requesting to share a two bedroom apartment with up to three family members (total occupancy of four people)

Important Dates:                                 

  • March 23. 2012                   
    New Student Applications due to Student Housing by 4pm for priority consideration for the lottery
     
  • Week of April 16, 2012 
    Student Housing lottery 
  • Week of April 23, 2012 
    Notification of lottery results via email and Contract Distribution
     
  • May 4, 2012 
    New Student Contracts and prepayments due to Student Housing by 4pm
