WEB DESIGN

Q: How long will it take for my web site to be designed or redesigned?
A: The timeline of a website design project is often dictated by the client. If you have a deadline in mind we will try to meet it for you. The most common delay in the creation and completion of a new website is waiting for content (text/images) to be sent to us by the client.

Q: What is involved in creating a website?
A: There are three types of components that go into making a website.

  1. Content: This is the text and pictures that goes on the pages and the documents that will be linked to the pages.
  2. Design: This is how the website will look. What colors, fonts, and layout the website will use.
  3. Coding: This is how the site will function. Web pages use various technologies and programming languages to display the content and design. Our site uses a combination of Html, CSS, Javascript, and Asp.

These three components are necessary for all any site to be created. The web designers handle design and front end coding. The requestor of the website is responsible for all content. Without content the website will be blank.

Q: In what format should I supply texts and photographs for my website?
A: It is helpful to us if you are able to provide text and photographs in electronic form - for example, the files output by a digital camera and the words in MS word or similar format.

Q: Can I create a URL that is shorter or different for my page?
A: Yes. Please see our link to the short URL project on our home page.

Q: Is there a charge for web design?
A: There is no charge for us to edit text, graphics, links, addd or delete pages. However we do charge an hourly labor rate for creating or editing web forms, javascript coding and other dynamic coding (code that allows interactivity action between the website and the user).
