Dear Friends and Colleagues-
As promised, I wanted to communicate with you as soon as we heard anything "official" from the LCME.
Well, the news is "in" and I hope that you will find it as satisfying as I do!
The action taken by the LCME at their June 2006 meeting is that our School remains fully accredited and is now back into their "regular" reaccredidation site survey cycle.
This means that our next survey will be in academic year 2011-2012.
Our plan, of course, is to remain in a constant state of accreditation compliance preparedness and, in preparation for the 2011-2012 survey we will initiate an exhaustive School self-assessment beginning in about 2009.
My very sincere and grateful thanks to all of you. I can think of no one here who did not contribute to this favorable outcome in some substantial way. You all have worked very hard to assure this result and I hope that you will take some real pride & satisfaction from seeing what you’ve accomplished.
