Key Measures
KEY STRATEGY 1: CREATING A MEDICAL SCHOOL OF ‘CHOICE’ THAT ATTRACTS OUTSTANDING STUDENTS AND FACULTY.
Increase application and matriculation of highly qualified applicants.
Enhance our student focused curriculum and learning environment to provide a distinctive educational experience for successful achievement of the Chicago Medical School core competencies.
Recruit and retain basic science and clinical faculty through a supportive administrative structure that creates an environment conducive to professional growth, presents options for personal goals, and rewards successful professional activities.
Engage and increase active participation by the Chicago Medical School Alumni by 2008.
Partner with the VP for Advancement at RFUMS to develop a plan to increase philanthropic support by 2007.
KEY STRATEGY 2: STRENGTHENING OUR CLINICAL CAPABILITIES AND PARTNERSHIPS WITH THE CREATION OF A SINGLE FACULTY.
Establish a common academic identity among faculty.
Initiate a transparent and equitable incentive plan for clinical faculty that is based on their teaching performance and academic commitment.
Develop training sites that offer excellent student experiences as determined by students, faculty and administration.
KEY STRATEGY 3: BUILDING UPON OUR FOUNDATION OF EXCELLENCE IN RESEARCH BY STRENGTHENING OUR CLINICAL AND TRANSLATIONAL RESEARCH ACTIVITIES
Facilitate/Enhance CMS faculty’s abilities/current efforts/new opportunities to secure grant funding in translational and/or clinical research.
Enhance research collaboration and productivity among CMS, its partners, and other organizations.
Provide incentives to clinicians and basic faculty to conduct clinical and translational research.
Attract and prepare future physicians to participate in biomedical research.
