Application Procedure
For application to the Ph.D. and M.D./Ph.D. programs,the following materials should be sent to the Office of Graduate Admissions, Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, 3333 Green Bay Road, North Chicago, IL 60064.

  1. A completed application form. (Forms for Ph.D. programs can be obtained by clicking here).

  2. An official transcript from each college attended.

  3. Three letters of recommendation. At least two of these letters should be from science faculty.

  4. Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores, including scores from any advanced tests. The scores must be sent from the Educational Testing Service directly to the Graduate School Admissions Office/The Chicago Medical School. Use Institution Code 1117 and Dept. Code 0699 when requesting scores be sent to our school.

Applicants to the M.D./Ph.D. combined degree program must apply for admission to the Medical School in addition to the Graduate School. In order to qualify for the combined degree applicants should have an undergraduate GPA of 3.5 or more and should have better than average MCAT or GRE scores. In this program, the student will take all required courses for the first two years of medical school, do graduate research, complete the Ph.D. degree, and then complete the M.D. degree. Qualified applicants are eligible for Fellowships including tuition waivers for the full 6 years of matriculation in the M.D./Ph.D.program and a stipend during the period of the Ph.D. program. Application to the Combined Degree Program may be made simultaneously to both schools. Additional materials needed for application to the joint program can be requested from:
