The mission of the Department of Radiology is to provide education in all disciplines of radiology to the medical, graduate and health sciences students at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science.

The Department operates under the auspices of The Chicago Medical School of the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science.

The Department offers medical students instruction in all modalities of radiology.  Electives, conducted by faculty, are offered during the second year and senior years. The sophomore electives are held on campus. The senior electives are offered at affiliated hospital sites and may include supplemental lectures held on campus (see course listings).  In addition, faculty members of the Department participate in teaching programs offered through other departments in all Schools of the Rosalind Franklin University.

Faculty members seek to inculcate sound decision making and systematic implementation of different radiological modalities, and to develop a thorough understanding of proper indications and contra-indications in radiological procedures in patient care. Teaching evaluations and other educational research methods are utilized to further improve learning opportunities.

The Department of Radiology calls upon faculty and clinical resources located in hospitals throughout the Chicago metropolitan area which are associated with Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science.
