John H. Becker, Ph.D.  Dr. Becker joined Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in 1986, and he has been at Rosalind Franklin University since Scholl College affiliated in 2001.  He received a Ph.D. in physiology from the University of Illinois at Urbana and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Oak Ridge National Labs, then taught biology at Knox College and was a faculty member in the Knox-Rush Medical program.  His research areas were cold adaptation of ion transport and metabolite transport in cancer cells.  Dr. Becker has also taken courses in Loyola University’s Masters program for higher education leadership.  Dr. Becker formerly served as a department chairman and an associate dean for Scholl College.  Currently, he is the course director for the Structure and Function class, teaches in several other university courses, and serves as Principal Senator of the Faculty Senate.
