Catherine Gierman-Riblon MEd, RN received a degree in nursing from Truman College in Chicago where she was a member of Phi Theta Kappa. She later earned her bachelor's degree with a focus in allied health education from Northeastern Illinois University and a Master of Education from Pennsylvania State University
Ms. Riblon has been a nurse for 24 years. Her experience includes in-patient cardiac critical care, triage, family practice and internal medicine in ambulatory care settings, geriatrics in residential settings, and school nursing. Her background also includes service as Associate Dean of Nursing and Health Professions at an Illinois community college, and 19 years as Department Chair of the School of Health Sciences in a private college in Chicago where she developed, managed, and taught healthcare education programs including health information technology, medical billing and coding, medical assisting, and therapeutic massage.
Ms. Riblon has also developed curricula in nursing, pharmacy technician, medical administration, esthetics, surgical technology, and the medical imaging fields. A strong proponent of distance education and online programs, Ms. Riblon earned her own master's degree entirely online through Penn State as well as a post-baccalaureate certificate in distance education. She joined Rosalind Franklin University as an Assistant Professor in 2007.
