Technology Requirements
Students enrolled in any program within the College of Health Professions are expected to meet specific technology requirements. Compliance with these requirements will ensure that you can participate fully in our online course and program activities. Listed below are the minimum requirements for a system to run the software required in our degree programs. This information is intended as a guide for those who already own a computer system and are trying to determine if they need to upgrade. The other recommended systems (desktop or laptop) are for those who are considering upgrading their current system or are purchasing their first computer.
As you make your decision, keep in mind that given the speed with which technology changes, the projected lifespan of computer hardware is probably no longer than three years. A general guideline to use when purchasing a new system is to buy what you can afford, but keep in mind that if you purchase a system that only meets the minimum requirements when you enter the program, you may need to upgrade sooner than anticipated. Please be aware that if you are applying for financial aid, you can request $1000 toward purchase of your system.
