Microscopy and Imaging Facility

The Microscopy and Imaging Facility is a Univeristy-wide facility that exists to advance university research productivity. Access is available to university researchers on a cost-recovery basis after their successful completion of certification training. The facility, located in Room 1.353,  became fully operational in July, 2001, and is directed by Patricia A. Loomis, Ph.D.

Equipment Available in the Microscopy and Imaging Facility

•Two Upright Olympus Fluoview300 Confocal Microscopes (MIF1, MIF2) with three laser lines (visible spectrum) equipped with Stereo Investigator software for confocal stereology. MIF1 has been upgraded to include UV (405 nm)
•Olympus BH2 upright microscope with fluorescence equipped with Stereo Investigator software for brightfield and flourescence video-based stereology.
•An offline computer station with Stereo Investigator and Fluoview software for post-acquisition analysis.
