Services Available to RFUMS Students
As the next generation of medical professionals learn how to care for others, they must be mindful of their own health as well. Students need to allocate time for wellness, just as they would for schoolwork and leisure activities.
Students at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science can contact the Student Health Center for assistance with:
- regular checkups
- preventive care
- unexpected illnesses
- immunizations required to begin clinical clerkships
- follow-up care after an exposure incident during clinical rotations
Health Insurance
The Student Health Center accepts health insurance from a variety of insurance carriers; however, health insurance plans often vary greatly in their definitions of which services are eligible for coverage and which services are not.
For example, one insurance plan may cover part or all of the cost of a routine physical, while a different insurance plan may not pay for any routine care, just accidents or catastrophic injury.
If you have questions about coverage for specific services, we recommend you contact your insurance company directly at the customer service number listed on your insurance card.
Other payment options are also available. RFUMS students can call the Student Health Center at 847-473-4357 with questions or to schedule an appointment.
The Student Health Center is located inside the Scholl Foot & Ankle Center at 3471 Green Bay Road (on the south side of the Woodlands apartment complex).
Student Health services are provided by Edward Magid, MD, Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine and a CMS alumnus, and Annette Boban, Student Immunization Coordinator.
