Biomechanics and Orthopedic Diseases

 

Mission Statement

To provide our students with a working knowledge and understanding of orthopedic and biomechanic conditions of the lower extremity.

Goal

The Podiatric Biomechanics and Orthopedic Disease Department (BODD) will be recognized as the national leader for preparing students in podiatric biomechanics and orthopedic diseases education.

Objectives

  • Define student learning outcomes and programmatic outcomes for the Department which are consistent with the College's core competencies and current standards of practice.
  • Enhance departmental research productivity.
  • Provide community service.
  • Recruit quality faculty.
  • Develop a grands rounds session in PBOD having students present interesting cases seen in the clinical setting.
  • Initiate the process for development of a year long biomechanics and orthopedic diseases fellowship.
