University Wide Suggestion Program
Letting Ideas Flow Endlessly (LIFE) Program

Overview of the Program
The Letting Ideas Flow Endlessly (LIFE) program is looking for ideas to improve Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science! This program gives all faculty, staff, and students a quick way to make suggestions to improve our campus community.    We know you all have ideas, or gems that may help to improve Rosalind Franklin University, and this program will allow you to use your voice and contribute to the University as a whole.

What types of suggestions can be submitted for the LIFE program:
The LIFE program was designed to tap into the great ideas our community members have that may improve the quality of the campus at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science! LIFE suggestions can be submitted for low cost ideas that will create a positive change on campus and can be implemented in a relatively short period of time. All items submitted must fit into an operating budget that already exists at the University currently.
Examples of suggestions for the LIFE program:
-          Adding coat hooks to the bathrooms in the HSB building.
-          Create a Mother’s room for nursing mothers at the University.
-          Placing signs in the elevators to help guide people to major locations around campus.
-          Install an additional microwave for use in the Student Union Area.
-          Create a running/walking route around campus to document distances and promote them on the University website.

What happens after I submit my terrific idea?
Once you submit a LIFE suggestion, via the LIFE website and submission form (see Appendix A) your suggestion will be received by the LIFE committee, and a confirmation email will be sent to you within 2 business days. The idea will then be forwarded to the LIFE committee for consideration, and will be reviewed at the monthly LIFE committee meeting. The idea will be considered by the committee, and if deemed as a quick, positive change for the University, the LIFE committee will conduct a feasibility study by forwarding your idea and a feasibility study forms to the department at the University overseeing the potential suggestion. The department will be given until the next LIFE committee meeting to report back on the feasibility and costs associated with this idea. Then, the LIFE committee will decide whether to implement the idea as a LIFE suggestion, after review of the feasibility study.

How does my suggestion benefit me?
First, your suggestion will benefit you and the entire University community as it will improve the Rosalind Franklin University community.

In addition, after the LIFE committee receives your suggestion, you will receive a small item as a token of appreciation for contributing to the program, as well as something you can display to show others at the University you are contributing to making RFU a better place!

Moving forward, if your idea is selected to be implemented as part of the LIFE program, then your name (unless you choose to submit confidentially) and idea will be posted on the Rosalind Franklin University website and you will be eligible for yearly reward prizes that are given out.  The prizes are:
-           $75.00 to the Most Effective Suggestion
-           $75.00 to the Most Creative Suggestion
-           $75.00 to the Most Cost Saving Suggestion
(as voted upon by the LIFE Committee)

What happens to my idea if it is not selected as a suggestion for the LIFE program?
If your idea is not feasibile to be implemented as part of the LIFE program, it will be forwarded to the department overseeing the area anyway as a suggestion they may want to implement or consider for their budget the next following year.
