Healthy U! – Health Promotion and Wellness Initiative
Healthy U! is the University’s community health promotion and wellness initiative. The program was created in 2013 and we held our first event in April 2013. Healthy U! has the vision of instilling a culture of healthy behaviors and wellness in students, health clinic employees, university staff and faculty. We achieve our vision by designing and delivering high quality health promotion and wellness services; we educate and assist our university community in leading healthy lifestyles; and we champion an innovative and sustainable program.
What we do: Healthy U! aims to educate, screen and refer individuals for specific health conditions. We support health clinic employees, students, staff and faculty in developing and maintaining healthy lifestyle habits. Additionally, Healthy U! fosters and promotes the adoption of healthy lifestyle behaviors and discourages behaviors that lead to illness, disability and/or premature death.
Our services include: Healthy U! organizes numerous events throughout the year and provides resources and education to promote prevention and good health to our university community in collaboration with experts across the university. Our services align with the mission of RFU to improve the wellness of its people.
