Diversity Advisory Council (DAC)

The charge of the Diversity Advisory Council is to monitor CMS diversity initiatives for specific outcomes and ensure that such initiatives are consistent with the medical school’s strategic plan.

Chicago Medical School (CMS) values an inclusive environment with a diverse population of students, staff, and faculty. In May 2019, the dean of the medical school established the CMS Diversity Advisory Council to prioritize recruitment, development, retention and advancement activities of diverse individuals, especially those whose communities are under-represented in medicine and implement diverse and inclusive practices to improve cultural competence, communication, teamwork, and broaden problem-solving capabilities of research and clinical teams is a core to our medical education. The DAC is led by the CMS Assistant Dean of Diversity. The members of the council are as follows:
