Tariq Hassan, MD

Associate Professor

Dr. Hassan received his medical degree from the University of Jordan School of Medicine in 1979. He completed his psychiatry residency in 1984 at the Lafayette Clinic, Wayne State University, Detroit. He also completed a neurology residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1990. He is board certified in neurology and psychiatry.

His current location is the Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center (FHCC). Dr. Hassan has held several positions at the FHCC, including Chief Medical Executive, Associate Director of Patient Care, Chief of Staff, Chief of Neurology Service, and Acting Chief of Psychiatry Service. He has a special appreciation for the clinical and education mission of the FHCC.

His research interests include transcranial Doppler in autonomic dysfunction, and electroconvulsive therapy.

Other interests include traveling, history, fine art, photography, genealogy, and playing string instruments.
