IACUC Protocol Submission and Meeting Dates

Protocols are due 3 weeks prior to a scheduled meeting date. Please submit an electronic version of the document in Word format to the IACUC coordinator (IACUC@rosalindfranklin.edu). A signed hard copy of the final version will also be required from the PI when the IACUC review process is complete. The IACUC uses a “Designated Reviewer” system and often a protocol review (for uncomplicated protocols) can be completed earlier than the scheduled meeting. However, any IACUC member can refer any animal protocol to “Full Committee Review”. If that occurs, the review process will be done at a convened meeting (and may require additional review at a subsequent meeting). Thus, it is best practice to always allow AMPLE time to get your protocol approved, especially when grant deadlines are involved. (Your inability to plan appropriately will not constitute an IACUC emergency).
