Office of the Executive Vice President for Research
RFUMS faculty, staff, and students are intensively engaged in the discovery of new knowledge, a core tenet of the University's mission. The Office of the Executive Vice President for Research facilitates the success of RFUMS' research community in achieving its goals and addressing the University's mission. The Office is responsible for:
Research Development and Administration
- Develop institutional research priorities and strategies
- Promote intramural and extramural academic research collaborations
- Build partnerships with industry, government, and nonprofit agencies
- Support technology transfer and commercialization of research
- Set policies and procedures to achieve these aims
Financial Support
- Identify funding opportunities
- Provide pre- and post-award research grant administration
Research Compliance
- Ensure research activities meet standards of performance established by federal, state and local agencies as well as RFUMS
- Generate reports of research activities and metrics to relevant stakeholders and oversight agencies
Research Integrity
- Ensure ethical conduct of research in compliance with federal and university standards
- Monitor conflicts of interest
Safety
- Ensure the university community works in a safe environment, including research laboratories and other research facilities.
- Comply with federal, state, and local regulations regarding laboratory safety
- Provide safety training to the university research community
