Office of Experiential Education (OEE) Preceptor Training Information

Preceptor training for the College of Pharmacy is available using the Preceptor Training & Resource Network through Pharmacist’s Letter.

If you currently subscribe to Pharmacist’s Letter, please follow the steps below.

How to gain access to RFUMS preceptor training:

  1. It is important that you follow the link below to log in. You’ll get access to the Preceptor Training & Resource Network, including Preceptor CE. Additionally, RFUMS College of Pharmacy will be added to your My Profile page in the National Preceptor Database so any Preceptor CE that you take will automatically be reported. www.pharmacistsletter.com/?referer=rosalindfranklin/ptrn
  2. On the left, click “I personally subscribe to Pharmacist’s Letter.”
  3. Enter in your Email Address and Password. Click “Login”.
  4. To learn about our training modules and requirements, please continue to page 2 now.

If you do not have access or a subscription to Pharmacist’s Letter, you need to set up a Rosalind Franklin College of Pharmacy account and CE ID#.

How to set up access:

  1. Enter this URL in your web browser to set up your Rosalind Franklin Preceptor CE ID# www.pharmacistsletter.com/?referer=rosalindfranklin/ptrn
  2. On the left, click “I’m new to Pharmacist’s Letter – sign me up for Preceptor CE and Resources!”
  3. Complete the form to obtain your CE ID# instantly. Please “logout” and then “login” again.
  4. To learn about our training modules, please continue to page 2 now

Once your account is set up for our College of Pharmacy, please follow the steps below.

To access our training modules:

  1. On the left side, click “PL CE & Training”. A drop-down box will show “PL CE & Training Organizer”. Select this.
  2. Proceed on to the list of training modules for Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. New users may first be asked to select the type of CE credit you want and your state license information (you may enter this at another time).
  3. Select the training modules that are required for your rotation (refer to the list below).

IPPE Preceptors with no prior precepting experience or training:

  • Precepting Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences

APPE Preceptors with no prior precepting experience or training (select the most applicable module):

Community Pharmacy

  • Precepting in the Community Pharmacy Part 1: Teaching Students in Practice
  • Precepting in the Community Pharmacy Part 2: Developing Challenging Assignments and Learning Activities
  • Precepting in the Community Pharmacy Part 3: Clinical Teaching during the Development and Implementation of Pharmacy Services

Ambulatory Care

  • Precepting the Ambulatory Care Experience

Health-System Pharmacy

  • Precepting in the Hospital Pharmacy Part 1: Starting an Advanced Practice Experience for Students in the Hospital
  • Precepting in the Hospital Pharmacy Part 2: Developing Challenging Student Activities and Assignments for Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE)
  • Precepting in the Hospital Pharmacy Part 3: Incorporating APPE Students into the Development and Implementation of Pharmacy Services

Acute Care
