The Rosalind Franklin University fitness center is designed to help students and faculty reach their goals of physical wellness. Not only does the fitness center feature a variety of cardio machines, free weights and lifting equipment, there are numerous options available for everyone. Inside you will find a punching bag, aerobic equipment and empty floor space for floor work as well. Three walls of the gym are covered with mirrors and there are scales available for your use. Also look to the bulletin board for information on everything from proper technique and stretching to tips on how to eat right and get enough sleep. There is even a place for you to write down your suggestions and comments. The fitness center is free to all students and staff with a valid Rosalind Franklin University ID.

*Open 24 hours a day (exception, Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays  from 9am-10am for cleaning) 

 Contains:  Treadmills, Elliptical Trainers, Recumbent Bikes, Spin Bikes, Stair Stepper, Pull Up Station,
                   Free Weights, Circuit Weight Equipment, Crosstraining Weight Machines, Punching Bag, Floor Mats


Fitness Classes

The Office of Student Life provides weekly fitness classes that are free to all RFUMS students. Classes are offered on campus and also at the Lake Bluff Park District. Classes are on a first come first serve basis and may have limited numbers available for each session.

Zumba Class
Mondays and Tuesdays 5-6pm

Group Aerobics Room: L.053
Are you ready to party yourself into shape? Forget
the workout, just lose yourself in the music and find
yourself in shape at the original dance-fitness party.
Zumba classes feature exotic rhythms set to high-
energy Latin and international beats. Before you
know it, you'll be getting fit and your energy levels
will be soaring! Its' easy to do, effective and
totally exhilarating.

What do you need: Wear comfortable clothing, tennis shoes and bring a towel/water.

Yoga Class
Thursdays 5-6pm
Group Aerobics Room: L.053

A conditioning class for your mind, body and soul, along with promoting an overall sense of well-being. This class will improve your strength, flexibility and breathing. All levels welcome.

What do you need: Yoga mat if you have one, limited mats are provided. Bring a towel/water and wear comfortable clothing.

Cardio Step
Tuesdays 12:05-12:40pm   
Group Aerobics Room: L.053
A quick 35-minute session combining cardio and resistance training. This work out will include step aerobics with some lunges, squats, push-ups and core for a full body work out. All levels welcomed.

*Only 15 steps are available on a first come first serve basis

What do you need: Wear comfortable clothing, tennis shoes and bring water/towel.

Sports and Recreation

The Office of Student Life provides intramurals in the sports listed below. Different sports are offered during the fall, winter, spring and summer semesters and can be either a competitive league or pick-up session.

Intramurals offered:
Flag Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Sand Volleyball, Bowling, Soccer, Indoor Soccer, Tennis, Table Tennis, Table Tennis, Rock Climbing, and Ultimate Frisbee
