
William D. Rhoades, DO, FACP
Associate Professor and Chair of Medicine
Dr. Rhoades received his medical education at Des Moines University, College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Lutheran General Hospital and Geriatric Fellowship training at Duke University Medical Center. Dr. Rhoades has been on the Advocate Lutheran General's medical staff since 1995 and was appointed the chairman of the department of medicine in 2009. He has held multiple leadership roles while at Advocate Lutheran General as well as with the Advocate Medical Group, including bioethics committee chairman; member of the Lutheran General's pain and palliative care committee; co-leader of Advocate's DNR/LET task force; chief of the geriatrics division; program director of the Geriatrics Fellowship and member of Advocate Medical Group's governing council. Dr. Rhoades was appointed Chair of the Department of Medicine, the Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine of Science in 2011.
