Introducing Our Virtual Health System

A Transformational Simulation Center - Reimagining RFU’s Center for Advanced Simulation in Healthcare

An early adopter and national leader in simulation education is proud to introduce the RFU Virtual Health System, a state-of-the-art simulation center on campus in North Chicago designed to transform healthcare education and professional development. This immersive, multizoned environment emulates the full continuum of care, allowing learners to practice, refine and master clinical and team-based skills in realistic, risk-free settings that mirror actual healthcare environments.

The vision of our simulation program is that every health professional has the best training possible so that every patient has the best care possible.

More than a teaching space, the Virtual Health System supports quality improvement, team resilience and health systems science. It fosters interprofessional collaboration, aims to improve patient safety, and enhances decision-making to improve outcomes and reduce the cost of care. By practicing, receiving feedback and practicing again, learners gain the skills, judgment and confidence needed for today’s healthcare workforce. The center will also serve as a hub for STEM education and community outreach, inspiring the next generation of healthcare leaders.

We invite RFU, the community and colleagues to join us in realizing this vision — where innovation, education and patient-centered care meet to optimize the future of healthcare delivery.
